So I thought I would change our blog a bit....and I love these two pictures. They are the perfect reminder of how long people have been documenting their lives through pictures and journals. I have always loved old things, anything to do with history(I hope hubby sees this and goes on a journey to find me an old typewriter I can display!). My mom has a picture album of her mom and dad when they were first married. It is the perfect piece of history ~ all black pages with some faded and torn black and white pictures. Some with photo corners and some without. It makes me want to go back in time.
Hubby and I both also love quotes. So I put a few on here that I like, and describe us. The new blog title, Take a Picture, comes from a song Hubby likes by Filter. I also like this song and I love Nickelback. When I get in the car with the kids to go out, I usually ask McQueen if he wants to listen to Country or Rock n Roll(because sometimes Hubby will leave in something like a Metallica or Led Zepplin cd). His usual response is Country, but every once in a while he will respond with Rock n Roll. So I will pop in one of Hubby's cd's, McQueen will rock out for about a minute, then ask for Country. I love it. Though I do enjoy a little ACDC or Guns n Roses once in while. Takes me back. Oh and Bon Jovi ~ can't forget him. =)
Anyway, I am in the process of setting up a little scrapbooking area in our basement. Must I add, FAAAREEEEZZING basement. I will have to get about 5 space heaters to keep myself warm. But, I think it will be fun and I am looking forward to finally documenting my children's lives and the most perfect wedding day ever of Hubby and I. He might not see me for all of 2008, but I will get caught up!

Fly Me To The Moon....
I guess Frank Sinatra had the right idea when he wrote this song, because that is what McQueen wants to do! The last month or so he has found a new fascination with space and all the planets. So for Christmas his Grampa and Auntie Laura found him 2 books on planets. I couldn't find a picture of the second book, which is called The Planets in Our Solar System.(The second picture is just one I found that I thought looked cool). Both this book and Voyage Through Space are fantastic books which I have found that I also love. I have learned A LOT from reading them! For instance, did you know there is a place called Eagle Nebula, which is a star nursery? It contains hydrogen, the raw material for making stars. This is where new stars are born. The Eagle Nebula is 7,000 light years away! I guess I am going back to my Space Camp days .......Kim, I never thought I would! Very interesting though, all there is to learn.
So McQueen says to me at least once a day while he is gazing at the sky, "Mommy, McQueen wants to go to space." "Mommy, where is Jupiter and Saturn? Where is Neptune? How big is the moon? McQueen walk on the moon Mommy?" I just think that at age 2-1/2 if he wants to know about space, I will find ways to teach him all I can! I just think it's great he's interested in these things already. He LOVES his new books and wants me to read them to him over and over. Thanks Grampa and Auntie!

BOO!
I know we have not posted in a LONG time. So I thought since this is one of the best times of the year, it is a good excuse to blog. Yesterday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. Sis's favorite part was the wagon, and McQueen as usual took on the task of inspecting the entire area while we picked out pumpkins. We got a great deal on the whole hay/cornstalk/pumpkin arrangement, so we took it all home and set it up on the front porch(we are SO festive =) ).
McQueen was really excited until we wanted to take pictures today, of course. Luckily I was able to get one of him sitting next to sis, which is once in a lifetime, so I LOVE the picture that much more! Sis is a bit better about the camera. Maybe because she's a girl??
Anyway, we are really excited for Halloween this year. The weather is supposed to be awesome(not normal) and my parents are coming out for a few days. McQueen is very excited to take them Trick-Or-Treating. His cousins Ty and Lincoln are also coming over, like we did last year, so that will make it even more fun for them. I am sure it will be a race to see who can get the most candy. For mom and dad of course. McQueen is going to be a ghost this year. He loves the facepaint and white hair spray because he thinks it is like mommy's hair spray. Sis is a ladybug. We die everytime we put her in the costume, which is often since we like to look at her in it!
As for us, Hubby still works, golfs, is an AWESOME daddy and hubby and keeps the kids laughing. His job keeps him very busy but they are growing more everyday and we are so excited about all the new opportunities and growth. Me, I used to think work made me insanely busy, but I sure didn't know what was coming! I rarely stop during the day unless it is for cookies, am an early morning gym rat, enjoy working around the house and love watching my kids grow.

Tonight McQueen wanted some goldfish, and he wanted to eat them from the cupholder in his chair. So he says to Hubby, "Put the goldfish in here, Hubby!"
We got a good laugh out of that. He also wears our shoes all over the house. The kids actually enjoy taking a bath together now. Sis does not like sitting in her chair anymore ~ she enjoys sitting with McQueen in the bathtub. She likes to be very close to him, and play with all his toys. He does not like this much, and usually turns his back to her saying, "NO! Sis, MINE!" and she pouts for a while. But then when she gets out, he is upset and wants her back in the tub.
Auntie Laura got McQueen a fish while she was out her visiting, and of course McQueen named him Nemo. Each morning and evening and every hour in between he does not forget that Nemo needs to be fed. Many times during the day, he will pull a chair over and observe Nemo for quite long periods of time. I just have to make sure he doesn't reach in and try to grab Nemo, which has happened a few times. McQueen has said to that, "But I love Nemo!"
Sis decided the other day she was hungry. The fridge was open for just a few minutes while Mommy and Auntie were cooking, and before we knew it, she was standing just like this. She is too much!
